The storied Remington arms company is an iconic American brand. So.... how'd they get into cigars you ask? A few years back, Remington declared bankruptcy and after a lengthy auction process, found new ownership. Since the Remington brand is such a rock solid trusted brand for red-blooded Americans, there happens to be great overlap with premium cigar consumers. They proceeded to pair up with Kaizad Hansotia, owner of Gurkha, and worked out a deal to create and market a line of Remington cigars. The end product was a win, crafted in both Connecticut and Habano versions, all long-filler out of the Dominican Republic and all great looking to boot. But wading into the peculiar waters of the cigar biz, while it might look easy, is rife with pitfalls. Flash forward a few years and it was time to pivot back to their core products – and leave the selling of cigars to the veritable Star Wars bar scene that is the cigar industry. So the folks at Remington came calling on Cigar Page, asking if we want to buy all the inventory out of the factory. After some back and forth and burning through a bunch of these cigars we made a deal, and your pals at Cigar Page are the proud new owners of the entire lot.
