One thing Tim Ozgener does better than cracking jokes is making smokes, and his budding portfolio is EN FUEGO right now. Ozgener Family Cigars - sometimes known as OFC - is home to the 93-rated Bosphorus, the 90-rated Aramas, and the newly released Firsat, and they've been a breath of fresh air since resurfacing in the cigar biz. I say resurface because the Ozgeners have been in the game for a month of Sundays. Patriarch Cano Ozgener founded CAO Cigars way back when. Tim the younger came on board and took it to a new level, creating stalwarts like CAO Brazilia, Italia, Sopranos, Flathead and many many more. With that all in the rearview, Tim came back in a blaze of glory, working with Crowned Heads and since 2022 spearheading the launch of OFC, which is a celebration of his family's heritage and history. Among the blends, he's released an annual limited edition offering, and this year's was Pi Synesthesia Red made by E.P. Carrillo (no slouch himself). The blend name comes from his artistic father's idea of colors as taste. Which is fitting because Synesthesia Red brings loads of pepper and spice, coupled with fruit and chocolate notes and a toasty finish. EPC's Tabacalera La Alianza uses an aged Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and bold blend of Nicaraguan long fillers. Medium to full, this smoke is no joke.
