Gurkha has released an eye-raising number of blends over the years. With a price per cigar ranging from a couple bucks to a couple thousand, the brand has understandably received more than a few sceptics as a result of their marketing process and often outlandish packaging. As far as their cigars go, the truth is they’re just like any other cigar maker -- some of their creations are truly great, a few missed the mark, with the majority being solid blends. Signature 1887 is one they got right. Really right. More than a solid blend. More complex in flavor than one might expect from first glance, these golden ‘gars smoke clean and crisp from the jump off. Connecticut Shade wrappers, Dominican long-fillers – the combo creates a profile dominated by delightful nutty notes and a silky-smooth finish. Uncannily consistent, this is an all-day winner.
